Ashlee Jensen – Founder
Director, Story Consultant & Producer
My name is Ashlee Jensen and I am the founder of The Coast Collective.
I have been working in the film and creative industry professionally for over ten years. I love the collaborative nature of film, as well as the craftsmanship of using the power of story to impact people.
Thus far I have directed two award winning feature films, four award winning short films and worked across Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Hawaii and the USA.
My qualifications include a Bachelor of Education specialising in Human Development. I also have an Advanced Diploma of Film and Media, an Advanced Diploma of Screen and Stage Acting, AFTRS Directing Intensive and an AFTRS course in Storytelling for Business. I have been fortunate enough to be selected for a Directing Intensive weekend with Cate Shortland and Tony Krawittz and a Writing Masterclass with Wendall Thomas via Screen Australia.
My passion is story creation and directing. I am known as an actors’ director and my happy place is in a discovery session or writers room and on set bringing it to life. Bringing together our Sunshine Coast production team the Coast Collective is a labour of love for me.
When I’m not doing all of this you can find me riding my horse, playing with our pup Skallywag or scuba diving and taking film and photos underwater.
Mickey Carter
Camera Operator & Lighting Technician
Hi, I’m Mickey – video and filmer-frother in the Coast Collective. I have been filming professionally for 6 years and love every aspect of my job.
Filming from Australia wide to as far away as the USA, I have been involved with a range of projects from weddings, commercials and high-end real estate.
I prioritise capturing natural connections between subjects and camera to create natural films.
I am a qualified lighting technician and ensure this aspect is covered well. I’m also passionate about capturing quality audio on my shoots because it is such a pivotal part of filming.
If I am not filming, I will be hanging with my young family or surfing. Just one of the benefits of working on the Sunshine Coast in our video production team.
Isabel Van Heeckeren
Producer, Production Manager, Photographer
My name is Isabel van Heeckeren and I’ve been collaborating with The Coast Collective since its launch. Growing up I found purpose in my skill and passion surrounding photography & film. This led me to excel in my studies and go on to complete a bachelor of film and media with the innovative Griffith University in Brisbane. It was there that I developed vital skills and knowledge across multiple departments. I specialised in cinematography and assistant directing in my final two years of studying.
Throughout the course of my creative journey I quickly discovered how multimedia and visual storytelling can play such a powerful role in people’s lives, whether that’s showcasing a new business to the world or bringing a script to life. Its ability to enterain, eduate and inspire all at once continously aspires me. The opportunities are limitless.
When I’m not creating or collaborating with others I find myself connecting back with nature through gardening at home or hikes up in the hinterland. I also enjoy finding a bargain at the local markets on weekends. I definitely have a soft spot for cozying up on the couch and watching TV and cinema.
Kym Burmester

I am a photographer with over 20 years experience. I am highly skilled in lighting be it studio or on location.
After studying a Degree in Fine Art I was fortunate to travel the world for 8 years as a photographer. This gave me the opportunity to photograph many different clients. From International Governmental work, corporate clients to weddings and fashion editorial work. This has given me the experience to deal with a variety of people from different walks of life.
My aim is to make the client feel comfortable in front of the camera and produce high quality imagery. Customer experience and quality are always on the forefront of my work ethic.
Sasha Parlett

I have always been immersed in a culture that celebrates dance, song and dreaming. This lifestyle had me continuously surrounded with creativity from a young age. I was able to express my identity through my creativity.
I have a Bachelor of Creative Industries through USC where I was credited as both director and producer for the award winning film Fallen (2019).
My passion for filmmaking has led me to pursue a career as both a DOP and Director. I’ve built an extensive portfolio of rich creative and culturally safe content. Best known for my work in the documentary space, I have experience creating corporate brand stories and corporate documentaries. I have experience working in bigger narrative driven productions and also working alone on film art projects.
My photography experience ranges from styled editorial shooting, branding and live music.
Jamie Findley
Editor, Colour Grader & Photographer
A creative outlet has always felt necessary to me. For that, I feel incredibly lucky to currently work as an editor & photographer in Brisbane, Australia.
I currently specialise in portrait and product photography, using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, as well as Premiere Pro, Lightworks & Davinci Resolve, specialising in wedding videos, short films, and music videos.
The buzz of post-production is my favourite part of any project, as it allows the story to evolve in ways that are entirely different from where it began.
I love the outdoors, painting, Spotify’s Discover Weekly, long bike rides, and kicking back with friends.
